Since opening in 1996, this hotel is one of the jewels in the Four Seasons' crown, being both a Conde Nast Traveller Award Winner and a Travel + Leisure Award Winner. Enjoying its excellent worldwide reputation - and going from strength to strength, this is a boutique style hotel of just 65 rooms and suites located in a former prison in the centre of Istanbul's Old Town. It may be one of the smallest in the Four Seasons chain, but the hotel offers everything that a larger hotel does, and much more besides. The three-storey, neo-classic building is conveniently situated between Topkapi Palace, Haghia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.

The atmosphere in the hotel is warm and welcoming with an air of elegance and charm. The interior design pays homage to the city's rich Ottoman heritage, with arched ceilings, decorative local artefacts throughout and a fantastic collection of antique rugs and Turkish sofas. The 65 rooms and suites have the traditional Four Seasons decor - refined antique wood, plush carpets, vaulted ceilings and arched windows. Rooms are furnished with a writing desk, chairs, a private refrigerated bar and an armoire with a television, DVD and Bose CD player. The marble bathroom includes a deep soaking tub and a separate shower.
